             Several different middle initials were given for William Johnson, on different census records, with 'D' being favored.

            Sisters, Sarah and Frances Appleby were left Orphans when father, John, died in 1858 and mother, Jane, died before

            1860.  Sarah would have been about 14 years of age and Frances would have been about 12 years old.

             when he was 17 years of age.  An older sister to William, Harriet, age 18;  then Elizabeth, age 14;  John, age 10;

             M argret, age 8;

             James, age 4 and Jane age 8 months, born Dec 1859.
