 Edward William Appleby:  A portion of a letter, written in 1931,  by Edward William Appleby, to a cousin  Catherine Bell (Appleby) Wheeler:  

"Fred married Rose Bedell, Charles Bedell's girl, they live in El Paso,  Texas (Rio Grande Valley).  They have two children, both married.  

 Elliott lives in El Paso, Texas his wife has consumption and Elliott's two children are with Fred and Rose.  Ralph is married and lives in Ohio.  

He has three children and he is an expert chemist.  Makes 10  to 12 thousand a year."

 

Frederick L. Appleby, in 1930 probably worked for his father, Edward William Appleby, a road and bridge builder.  In 1920, Frederick L. was 

listed as a Civil Engineer.   Rina Bedell,  the sister of his wife, Rose Bedell-Appleby, lived with them in the 1910 census.

 

Josephine Davis, sister to Elliott's wife, lived with them according to the 1930 Census.  She was age 43, born in Ohio and was widowed.

Hattie Boone, sister to Ralph's wife, lived with them according to the 1930 Census.  She was age 35 years, born in Illinois.

 

Catherine Bell Appleby-Wheeler was a daughter of James Newton Appleby and his second wife, Mary Elizabeth McCurdy.  She lived in 

Oklahoma.
