Marion Joyce Pierson-Selbie
Joyce Pierson and Don Selbie, Jr. were married at the home of Joyce's grandfather, Dr. Theodore A. Pierson, 103 Broad Street, Hopewell, New Jersey, July 10, 1942. Joyce is the daughter of Theodore A. Pierson, Jr. and Marion T. (Eagle) Pierson. The couple have three living children, eight grandchildren, and a great-grand-daughter, Haley, born January 2003.
Don's parents were Frederic Donald Selbie, Sr. and Alta Marie Appleby-Selbie, daughter of Edward William Appleby and Lillie Belle Hall of Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. His great-grandfather was Judge Albert Barnes Appleby, also of Springfield.
Don, a Princeton graduate, retired as a colonel from the US Air Forcein 1963 after serving for 25 years. He retired for a second time as a vice-president of the Martin Marietta Corp in 1986. Don and Joyce will soon be moving to Arizona after making their home in Colorado for 40 years. |
