Shirley Jo Selbie-Boice-Fanjoy

Shirley Jo Selbie, daughter of Alta Appleby and F. Donald Selbie, was born in 1918. She married Fred DeWitt Boice of the P. O. Ranch, north of Cheyenne, Wyoming, on October 5, 1940. Mr. Boice, son of Fred D. and Margaret Boice, was born in Wyoming on 29 March 1917 and died in May 1975. While living on the ranch until 1973, Shirley Boice served in the Wyoming House of Repre- sentatives three times, 1950, 1952, 1954. She, also, served as President of the Wyoming Federated Women' Clubs, leading a challenge for reform in the Wyoming educational system. Shirley Boice married David Fanjoy three years after Fred's death. When Mr. Fanjoy died in 1999, Shirley moved to McMinnville, Oregon, where she now resides in assisted living, near her daughter. Fred and Shirley Boice had two children: Fred III, who was killed on the ranch in 1971, and Margaret Boice Gardner, who resides in Portland, Oregon and Oro Valley, Arizona. Margaret Boice married Wayne M. Gardner on December 21, 1968 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They have two sons, Scott of Alexandria, Virginia and Jeffrey of Dallas, Texas. Shirley's maternal grandparents were Edward William Appleby and Lillie Belle (Hall) Appleby, of Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. She has one brother, F. Donald Selbie.
