                  This is to certify that one WM APPLEBY was enrolled as a Private, 4th Class,

                   8th Company, 2nd Battalion, Cumberland County Militia, in which capacity he

                   served a Tour of Active Duty under Captain Andrew McKee's Company of the

                   4th Class under Order of Council dated October 23, 1777, according to the

                   evidence of the Fine Book of John Carothers, County Lieutenant,  page 95.
