Andrew Benjamin Appleby descended from his great-grandparents, John Appleby and Sarah (Bell) Appleby, through his grandparents, James Appleby and Synthia Sheppard McMurry. His parents were: Andrew McMurray Appleby and Letitia Logan (Summer) Appleby. His maternal grandparents were: William Garner Sumner and Sarah Williamson. (note: A descendent chart will be added for this line, as soon as possible.
On the 31 December 1884, Andrew Benjamin married Mary Eleanor (Molly) Johnson. They were the parents of five three daughters and two sons, Erma Myrtle, 27 June 1886, born Ash Grove, Greene County, Missouri; Una Ella, born 24 Feb 1888, Springfield, Greene County, Missouri; Paul Henson Appleby, born 13 September 1891; Ash Grove, Greene County, Missouri; Frank Bell Appleby, born 30 July 1895; and Velma Appleby, born July 1900.
