We would like to give thanks to Frances Fentress Watts of Danville, Virginia.  Frances

is the daughter of Bernice Appleby Fentress, also of Danville, who is the daughter of

Benjamin Franklin Appleby.  Frances was able to discover much of the Appleby history.

Through her efforts any female descendant of Benjamin Franklin Appleby can join the

Daughters of the American Revolution.  The reference number is 452680.

Thanks also to Mildred Donaldson, daughter-in-law of Susanna (Susie) Donaldson.

Mildred was able to find much Appleby history in South Carolina.

Also, special thanks to Homer Appleby, Ralph Appleby's father.  When Ralph was a

small boy, his father carried him to the Little Texas Camp Grounds near Tuskeegee,

Alabama, (which is close to the old Appleby Plantation.) and told Ralph about the

Appleby history.
