"I have Susie's dad as Rilen H. Spellman buried at Greenlawn. One of Susie's brothers was Wilbur R.,

maybe Rilen buried at White Chapel. His wife, Katie, helped my grandmother elope with my

grandfather and my mother was named Katherine for her."

Newspaper report of marriage licenses made an error in mixing up the parties getting

licenses that day. Carse was named as getting a license with Eliza M. Ryan, age 21 of Pearl,

Missouri. Two days later the newspaper said one Tuck and Ellen M. Ryan (This time the

girl's first name was different) was married on Sunday. Nothing more said about Carson and

Susie.

Susie Spellman married 3 times after the death of her first marriage to Carson Fulton Appleby; #2. Lowe; #3 ?; #4 Wesley Highfill. J. Wesley Highfill, born 21 July 1882; died 29 Mar 1987.

Highfill is buried in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Murray Twp., Willard, Greene Co. Missouri.

After Susie died, Wes married Ethel (Farmer) Appleby, ex wife of Emmett Appleby.
